Peace in the Transition

 By Andrea Merrell

But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror

the glory of the Lord, are being transformed

into the same image from glory to glory.

2 Corinthians 3:18 TPT

“We’re all in a transition of some sort,” the speaker said. “It’s part of life.”

I thought about all the different transitions we go through:

  • Infant to toddler
  • Teenager to adult
  • Middle-age to Social Security and Medicare
  • Single to married (or vice versa)
  • Student to teacher
  • One job or career to another
  • Child to parental caregiver

The list could go on and on. It’s like a metamorphosis. Our life is ever changing as we grow, especially as we grow in the Lord. It’s been said there’s no standing still in God’s kingdom—we’re either moving forward or lagging behind. In fact, the only constant in this life is change.

The good news is God is right there with us during every single transition we go through. In fact, it’s His plan for us not to become complacent and resist the things He wants us to do, the places He wants us to go, and the people whose lives He wants us to touch.

If you’re in a season of change and your life is moving from one phase to another, don’t despair. God sees. He knows. And He’s right there ready to help you through each stage as you go from glory to glory.

With Him, there is peace in the transition.
