Let It Rain

This past Sunday, our congregation sang, Let it rain, let it rain; open the floodgates of heaven and let it rain. Someone made the comment after service that we have been in a severe drought for several years and God is finally answering our prayers for rain. Now it seems we might need to seek out some gopher wood to build an ark.

Seems we’re never satisfied with what we have. In the summer, we long for snow. When the roads are covered in a blanket of white, we long for the beauty of spring flowers. With too much time on our hands, we claim to be bored. When busyness overtakes us, we long for the much needed down-time. Maybe the answer is in learning to be content and praising God in all things (not for all things, but in all things). When our hearts are content and our eyes clearly focused on the Lord, He will truly open the windows of heaven and rain down his blessings.
