Lots of things come as a package deal. You can purchase a bed-in-a-bag, which contains sheets, comforter, shams, and a bed-skirt—everything you need for a complete ensemble. Many restaurants offer a combo or special meal-deal. Some companies offer bundles, giving you cable, phone service, and internet at a reduced rate. Even when you marry, you get more than just a spouse. You inherit who they are, what they have, and everything they’ve been through. You end up with the whole ball of wax—and then some.
What many people fail to realize is that when we accept Jesus as our personal Savior and Lord and invite Him into our life, we get the greatest package deal ever offered to mankind. When we receive His gift of salvation, there is so much more. We receive who He is, everything He has, and everything He has been through to pay the price for us.
Along with salvation comes forgiveness, deliverance, and healing, coupled with love, joy, and a peace that surpasses human understanding. Add to that, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, sandwiched between direction, purpose, and destiny. There is also strength, protection, and provision, with huge doses of creativity, skill, and favor. The thread that holds it all together is God’s unconditional, unchanging, and never-ending love for us. He loved us so much that He gave . . . and that love just keeps on giving.
God is Jehovah Jirah, our provider. He is Jehovah Shalom, our peace. And He is El Shaddai, the all-sufficient One—everything we could ever want or need.
